IJEMR is committed to preserving published scholarly content and ensuring long-term access to its articles, metadata and supporting publication files.

1. Persistent Identifiers

Where available, each published article will be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The DOI provides a persistent link to the article and its associated publication metadata.

The journal will maintain accurate DOI metadata, including article title, author names, abstract, publication date, references and landing-page URL. If an article URL changes, IJEMR will update the DOI record where possible to preserve access.

2. Publication Formats

Published articles will be made available in durable and accessible digital formats, including:

• PDF for readable, downloadable article versions;

• XML or JATS XML, where available, for structured metadata, indexing and interoperability;

• HTML article pages and metadata records; and

• supplementary files, datasets or appendices where applicable.

The journal will make reasonable efforts to preserve the final published version and associated metadata.

3. Secure Digital Repositories

IJEMR will maintain copies of published articles, PDF files, XML files and essential metadata in secure digital repositories or preservation systems.

Preservation arrangements may include:

• the journal’s secure hosting environment;

• recognised institutional or third-party digital repositories;

• DOI registration-agency metadata systems;

• Internet Archive (archive.org); and

• other appropriate long-term preservation services, where available.

4. Internet Archive

The journal may archive publicly available journal pages, published articles and selected journal content through the Internet Archive, subject to applicable copyright, privacy, technical and legal requirements.

Internet Archive copies are intended to provide an additional access and preservation layer. The official version of record remains the article published on the IJEMR website.

5. Metadata Preservation and Indexing

IJEMR will maintain accurate bibliographic metadata for each article, including:

• article title;

• author names and affiliations;

• abstract and keywords;

• volume, issue, pages or article number;

• publication date;

• DOI, where assigned;

• references; and

• copyright or licence information.

Structured metadata supports discovery, citation, indexing and long-term preservation.

6. Integrity and Version Control

The final published article is the version of record. If a correction, expression of concern or retraction is required, IJEMR will publish a clearly labelled notice linked to the original article.

Original content will not normally be removed from the scholarly record unless required by law, privacy obligations or serious ethical considerations.

7. Access Continuity

If the journal changes its website platform, publisher, owner or hosting provider, IJEMR will make reasonable efforts to preserve article URLs, DOI links, metadata and access to previously published content.

Where a journal website is discontinued, the journal will seek to retain access to its scholarly record through an appropriate repository, archive or preservation partner.

8. Author Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit the published article or an accepted manuscript in an institutional repository, subject to the copyright or licence terms displayed with the article.

Authors should include complete citation details and the DOI link, where available, when depositing a version of their work.
