1. About the Journal

The International Journal of Event Management Research (IJEMR) welcomes original, high-quality scholarly work that advances knowledge and professional practice in event management and event studies.

Relevant areas include, but are not limited to, tourism events, sport events, cultural festivals, corporate events, event policy, event impacts, sustainability, marketing, technology, risk management and related interdisciplinary fields.

All submissions must be original, unpublished and not under review by another journal.

2. Manuscript Types and Word Limits

Word counts include references, tables, figures and appendices.

3. Submission Files

Please submit the following files through the online submission system:

1. Cover Letter

2. Title Page

3. Blinded Main Manuscript

4. Tables, figures or supplementary files, where applicable

5. Response to Reviewers, when submitting a revised manuscript

The cover letter should confirm that the manuscript is original, is not being considered elsewhere and explain its contribution to the field.

4. Manuscript Preparation

• Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

• Use A4 page size with 2.54 cm (1 inch) margins.

• Use Times New Roman, 12-point font.

• Use 1.5 or double line spacing.

• Number all pages consecutively.

• Write in clear academic English.

• Authors are responsible for language accuracy, proofreading and formatting before submission.

5. Title Page

Submit the title page as a separate file. It must include:

• Full manuscript title

• Full names of all authors

• Institutional affiliations

• ORCID iDs, where available

• Corresponding author’s name and email address

• Acknowledgements, where applicable

• Funding statement

• Conflict-of-interest statement

6. Blinded Main Manuscript

To preserve double-blind peer review, the main manuscript must not contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgements or other information that identifies the author(s).

The main manuscript should normally contain:

1. Title

2. Abstract (150–250 words)

3. Four to six keywords

4. Introduction

5. Literature Review

6. Methodology

7. Results / Findings

8. Discussion

9. Conclusion and Implications

10. Limitations and Future Research

11. References

12. Appendices, if applicable

Avoid citations to your own previous work that reveal your identity. Use neutral wording such as “Author, [year]” where necessary, and restore full references after acceptance.

7. Abstract, Keywords and Tables

The abstract should clearly state the research purpose, methodology, principal findings and practical or theoretical contribution. Do not include citations or unexplained abbreviations.

Tables and figures must:

• be numbered consecutively;

• have clear, descriptive titles;

• be referred to in the main text;

• identify the source where adapted or reproduced; and

• be submitted in an editable format where possible.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted tables, figures, images or other material.

8. Referencing Style

IJEMR uses APA Style, 7th edition.

Examples:

• In-text citation: (Smith, 2021)

• Two authors: (Brown & Lee, 2020)

• Three or more authors: (Johnson et al., 2019)

Reference-list example:

Smith, J. (2021). Event sustainability strategies. Journal of Tourism Studies, 15(2), 45–62. https://doi.org/xxxxx

Ensure that every in-text citation appears in the reference list and every listed reference is cited in the manuscript.

9. Ethics, Originality and Integrity

Authors must ensure that:

• the manuscript is original and has not been published previously;

• all authors have approved the final submission;

• all necessary ethical approvals and participant consents have been obtained;

• research involving people, personal data or sensitive information meets relevant ethical requirements;

• all funding sources and conflicts of interest are disclosed;

• data, quotations, images and third-party material are used lawfully and with appropriate acknowledgement; and

• plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification and duplicate publication are avoided.

Evidence of serious misconduct may result in rejection and, where appropriate, notification to the author’s institution or relevant body.

10. Peer Review and Editorial Decisions

IJEMR uses a double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts are initially screened for journal scope, formatting, originality and ethical compliance. Suitable submissions are normally reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

Possible editorial decisions are:

• Accept

• Minor Revisions

• Major Revisions

• Reject

Authors submitting a revised manuscript must provide a point-by-point response explaining how reviewer and editor comments have been addressed.

11. Copyright and Open Access

Upon acceptance, authors may be asked to complete a copyright or publishing licence agreement. The applicable copyright and reuse terms for published articles will be displayed with the article or communicated during the publication process.

Any applicable publication charges will be clearly communicated to authors. No fee should be charged without prior notice and author agreement.
